Fortnite Thanos Appearance: Finally, The Crossover We Deserve

The “most ambitious crossover in cinematic history” is about to crossover to the most popular video game in the world. That’s right; Fortnite is offering players a limited time possibility of playing as Thanos from The Avengers: Infinity War on May 8.

Although discussion online of this topic quickly brought on fans excitement to purchase a Thanos skin, that may not be the crossover we will be seeing. Epic Games has mentioned that the addition of Thanos into the game will be more of a treasure hunt. The Mad Titan’s infamous Gauntlet will be released inside the Battle Royal map in a secret location. When a player is able to find the gauntlet, they will be gifted super abilities. The powers the player will receive however have yet to be announced.

Once again, Epic Games has successfully stirred up their hardcore fans with more wishful thinking. Although the Thanos character is confirmed, everyone is now wondering where the gauntlet may be and what exactly it will be able to do. The obvious hope for the gauntlet would be to snap your fingers and instantly kill half the map but that may be a bit too extreme. Some other good options however could be force choke, faster speed, longer jumps, increased health and overall just invincibility.

This news comes immediately off the historic box-office success from The Avengers: Infinity War. Regardless of my personal opinion, it continues to do massive numbers. The huge craze over the Marvel movie mixed with the mass obsession for Fortnite can only equal one thing, servers crashing hard. Regardless, Epic Games and the Infinity War directors are extremely excited about the release. Like many other currently celebrities, directors Joe and Anthony Russo commented about their passion for the game.

“Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games,” Joe exclusively told EW. “And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of AvengersFortnite mashup? So we stalked Donald [Mustard, creative director for Epic.]”

If you thought the Infinity War crossover was legendary then this one should just further your argument and if Fortnite wasn’t already the most popular game in the world, this should potentially break records. It is definitely going to be a mad-house for the Fortnite servers of every person with the game searching desperately for Thanos. Hopefully they decide to release the Mad Titan as a limited-time skin for purchase. Regardless, let’s just hope whoever finds the gauntlet is at least recording their gameplay and has the decency to upload the video.
